The solder for aluminum refers to the special solder for aluminum alloy brazing, that is the soft solder for aluminum and the hard solder for aluminum.

Soldering materials for aluminum are generally divided into three categories: one is low-temperature soldering materials, which refers to adding zinc or spacer elements to tin or tin-lead alloys, the melting point is about 150-260 °C, and the wettability and corrosion resistance are poor, the intensity is low, the common ones are: HL607; Sn-10Zn, etc. The second is to revisit the solder, which means that the tin-zinc and cadmium-zinc solders have a higher zinc content and a slightly higher melting point, about 260-370 ° C, with moderate wettability, corrosion resistance and strength. There are: HL501, HL502, Sn-30Zn, etc. The third is high-temperature solder, which refers to the use of zinc as the matrix, adding a small amount of Al, Ag, Cu and other elements, the melting point is about 370 ~ 450 ℃, due to the different contents of alloying elements, sometimes its liquidus may exceed 450 ℃, its wettability, corrosion resistance, and strength are high, and the common ones are: HL505, Zn-5Al, S-Zn89Al7Cu4, S-Zn95Al5, etc.

Aluminum brazing filler metals are used in applications with higher strength and higher temperature. Generally, important aluminum and aluminum alloy brazing products are brazed. Aluminum and aluminum alloy brazing filler metals are mainly eutectic alloys of aluminum and other metals, with higher melting point and strength than soldering filler metals. Brazing joints have good corrosion resistance in air and water, but in acid and alkali solutions poor, far inferior to welding joints, common aluminum brazing filler metals are: B-Al86SiMg, B-Al67CuSi, B-Al88Si, B-Al79SiZnCu, HL401, HL402, HL403, B62, etc.

There are many types of aluminum solders, including aluminum-based, zinc-based, etc. This solder is generally only suitable for welding rates and aluminum alloys. Aluminum-based filler metals are based on aluminum-silicon, aluminum-copper-silicon eutectic alloy, and is generated by adding other elements. It can generally be divided into: aluminum-silicon solder, aluminum-silicon-copper solder, aluminum-silicon-copper-zinc solder. Aluminum-based filler metals can be used as aluminum alloy solder or as other solder.
